A week-end with Wayne

This will be my last post for a few days since Wayne Jacobsen will be in S. C. and I'll be spending that time with him and a group of other believers who will be gathering together for a time of fellowship. For those unfamiliar with Wayne, he travels by invitation and goes for the purpose of encouraging the people of God. It's normally done in a more relational setting than in a "church" building. We'll be gathering in a home and, as far as I know, there is no set agenda. We'll just go with the flow. I understand he may not even be at some of the gatherings. It'll just be God's people getting together to share His life.

Anyway, never having met Wayne or been to any of his meetings, I can't say anything more. Actually, I've never met anyone who will be there except maybe through email. I'm sure I'll have more to share when I get back.

I wonder what my inbox will look like when the week-end is over. Yesterday, when I got home from work, my inbox had 22 emails in it. Mostly comments from all of you regarding different blogs. Then, I got at least 10 or 12 more during the evening. Catching up may be a job but it'll be worth it because of all of the good things that are shared. I'm the type of person who doesn't like to miss anything.

Well, I'll miss all of you. I feel like I'm leaving my family but I hope you all have a great week-end. Kent from Faithfully Dangerous will be hosting Paul Young, author of The Shack, for a few days. You might want to check out his blog next week. I'm sure he'll have some great things to share too.

Aida,

Hope you will have a great time with Wayne and other brothers and sisters in Christ. It's always a joy to meet those who are in the same journey. Hope you will enjoy it and looking forward to hearing from you once you are back...

Love in Christ,
Bino.

Aida... I'll send you 50 emails while you're gone.

LOL... seriously, as everyone said, I hope you have a wonderful time. This weekend sounds like it's right up your alley, so enjoy it to the max. :) Do I understand correctly that this is in Greenville? If so, you'll be in the city where my sister lives.

Have a great time Aida.

Another quick post. Actually, it's outside of Greenville in a town called Simpsonville.

Hubby and I just hung around last night. Things will crank up today with a couple of gatherings.

It was rainy and cold yesterday. I wasn't near a thermometer but it was probably about 40-50 degrees last night. Sorry, Joel and Kent.

Thanks for all of the good wishes. I miss all of you. That's obvious since it's not even 6:00 am and here I am posting a comment.

Joel, I didn't know you had a sister in S. C.. Do you ever get over here?

Nicki, I'll be sure to say hello for you.

Well, bye for now.

Aida... I've never been to Greenville to see my sister, but if and when we do ever get over that way, I'll be sure to see if some of us can get together!

Well, I'm up early again this morning. The only thing is I didn't think about the fact that we changed our clocks last night so it's actually 5:00 am instead of 6:00. Yawn!!

We'll be heading back after lunch today. It's been a great week-end. I'll share more when I get home and, hopefully, I'll be more awake then.

That would be great, Joel. The only negative about online relationships is that you don't get to do the face to face thing.

Yep indeed, Aida, that is one of the things about the online thing. It's not as personable as face to face.

Looking forward to hearing about your face to face encounter with some saints this weekend!

Hi Aida, I hope that you have a great time sharing the weekend with Wayne. Having hosted him in our home for a weekend it was great to see firsthand what Father has been working out in his life. He's a great brother and friend of our family.

Well, I'm back. Exhausted but happy. It was a great week-end. I'll post more soon. One of the highlights was meeting some of the family who up to that point were only names.

Hi Jon,

Great to see you over here. Thanks for commenting. It was wonderful to finally meet Wayne and it was great interacting with him. He is a great brother and a great encouragement.

That is so cool! Do you think he remembered me?!? I am so glad you got the opprotunity to meet him and others. What a true blessing!

Can't wait to hear more!

Love, Nicki!

Hi Nicki,

When I told him that Nicole said "Hello", he asked, "Who's Nicole?" I told him you use krazygirl as your forum nickname and he remembered you right away. He asked where you lived and seemed genuinely interested. I was surprised that he's aware of so much that happens with the folks from his online groups. I think he's even read my blog.

I'll try to share more tonight. Right now I'm plowing through the 50 emails Joel sent to my inbox . . . actually, it was 59 and 7 more came in later during the evening.

They really weren't all from Joel although his post on The Shack generated a lot of them.

It was a great week-end but I missed all of you and the new posts and comments that I've read have all been great stuff.

Love, Aida

LOL... sorry Aida about the influx of email that came through that one post of mine. :) It was a neat little conversation, but I'm glad it kind of trickled off.

Don't get yourself too overwhelmed trying to get caught up on everything. So many great things are said in the various blogs and comments in any given one day that it's hard to even keep up with a single day anymore!

When I came home Thursday and saw 29 emails in my box, panic rose up and I thought how am I going to read all of these. Well, I got through those but I still haven't finished the ones from the week-end and I just got 13 more. Also, that's not counting what's in my feeder reader that I haven't even checked yet.

Being goal oriented, I still think I have to read them all and am feeling a little overwhelmed. Thanks for the wise words, Joel. I may just have to let a lot of them go.

BTW, among the 13 new ones were some more comments about your blog so it looks like you'll still be busy with that one a little longer.

Well, I'm back and I meant to post some thoughts about the week-end today but, unfortunately, I clicked on that bad post on Joel's blog. By the time Charlie did all of the necessary scanning it got to be late. He also did some defragging (whatever that is) and said that he'll soon have to re-build my computer since I'm almost out of memory.

I'm up and running now and I'll try to post a blog with some thoughts about the week-end tomorrow. It was a great week-end and Wayne is a really great guy. Very down to earth and someone I could easily relate to.

Anyway, it's late and I should go to bed instead sitting here typing on this computer.
