My sidebar

For those of you who haven't looked at my sidebar in a while, I've made some changes. I've added a list of "Spiritual abuse resources" and I'm sure I'll be adding more in the future.

Also, one of my friends has started a new blog which I've listed under "Great blogs." She's got some phenonemal thoughts and has a humorous way of presenting them. I've been blessed and encouraged by what she has to say.

Also, I've added a couple of quotes by Darin Hufford. There's a lot of wisdom in what he has to say and I find myself going back and chewing on them a little more.

There may be a few other changes but those are the major one. I hope you'll check them out.

Hey, Rob. I'm sorry. I'm still playing around with the thing so it's not complete yet. I don't even like the "Great blogs" title but I couldn't think of anything else to title it.

Yours definitely is a great blog and I'll be sure to correct that oversight.

aida. i was just teasing. i finally landed on the standard "blogroll" for the header on my sidebar. i had tried a variety of things.

That's okay, Rob. I'm still making changes on my sidebar. I don't like any of the "Great" titles but haven't found anything better at this point. I recently changed what I wrote in my profile because I didn't like that either.

I'll look at your sidebar. Maybe you'll inspire me.

I've noticed things don't stay the same very long. I've also noticed I can't find a posted title on your blog but maybe one will show up in a few weeks.

You're very creative. I wouldn't even think of some of the things you do but that's what makes blogging fun. It certainly does develop creativity.

And a picture also. It's always fun having a face connected to the name. Isn't blogging fun?

You're welcome, Rob. You've often inspired me too.

Kent, I've been wanting to put up a picture for a while. It does make a difference to actually see who you're talking to. I had Charlie take it this afternoon and then was able to figure out how to get it on.

You're right. I absolutely love blogging.

Katherine, thanks for stopping by.

You've got a great blog and your openness in sharing has encouraged many to continue to pursue freedom. People need to hear what you have to say.

I'm honored to have you on my sidebar.

Aida,

Finally I had a chance to see your face! Great! I had a picture in my mind, but you are so very different.

I loved the collection of quotes, the following in particular:

The goal of the Christian life is not that you and I would try to act like God but that God would act like Himself in and through our own lives by faith. - Frank Friedman

We turn to God for help when our foundations are shaking only to learn that it is God shaking them. - Charles West

The glory of God is man fully alive. - St. Irenaeus

Hi Bino,

I'm the same way. I'll imagine what I think someone looks like only to find that I was totally wrong. I've been trying to post a picture for a while and it finally worked out.

I've enjoyed posting those quotes. They all have so much meaning for me. I'm glad you enjoyed them.

Hi Aida,

What a pretty picture!! I really didn't know how to picture you, to tell you the truth. I'd "try out" different pictures in my mind - at one point I had you blonde with glasses LOL. Wow that one was off huh! You're so pretty, and wearing my favorite color, lilac purple.

Thanks so much for putting my blog in your sidebar and for all the encouragement you have given me.

Blessings,
Amy

Glad to meet you, Aida. I feel like I'm meeting you all over again, for the first time. Thanks for the picture; it feels so much more personal now.

Nice improvements to your blog!

Thanks, Amy. I'm definitely not a blonde unless the white hair counts. LOL I do wear glasses although not all of the time. That's one of my favorite dresses - very comfy and I like the color too.

I've been very excited about your new blog. You've got such wisdom and have been so encouraging to me and I believe others will also be blessed by hearing what you have to say.

Free Spirit, I'm glad you enjoyed the changes.

Pictures do make it more personal. I don't normally enjoy having my picture taken but I knew it would provide greater connection with my blogging friends so I decided to bite the bullet and post one.

Hi Aida,

My husband and I left a spiritual abusive group several years ago and have struggled to “remain in the love of God.” This is a prevalent problem for people coming out of Bible-based “Christian” cults. We started a support group for former members which meets monthly. If you are aware of anyone in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who might be interested, please have them check our website for more information.

Thank you,

Wendy, thanks for the link.

I'll post that info on my blog and sidebar so, if anyone is looking, they'll be able to find it quickly. I'm sure there are many in your area that need that support and encouragement.
